Kenya’s October 2026 green mobility investment framework brings manufacturing, charging hubs and digital management together. For two-wheeler projects, the announcement highlights the value of planning compatible equipment, accessible sites and clear operating processes. YUNKU supports project-specific charging and swapping solutions, platform integration discussions and overseas customisation, with installation conditions and configuration confirmed for each deployment.
Kenya’s latest green mobility announcement brings vehicles, energy infrastructure and digital operations into the same conversation. On 6 October 2026, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation reported the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the government and Endelevu Enterprise Corporation for a proposed electric mobility investment. The framework includes plans for two-wheeler and light-mobility manufacturing, solar-powered charging hubs and a digital management platform. These are proposed developments, rather than a completed operating network.
Start with the rider’s operating pattern
For two-wheeler operators, the practical question is how to keep vehicles available throughout the working day. A commuter who parks for several hours has different needs from a delivery rider who returns repeatedly to a busy service area. Infrastructure planning should reflect those differences before equipment is selected.
Battery swapping can be evaluated where compatible removable batteries and frequent turnaround are central to the service model. Battery charging cabinets may suit locations where packs can remain on site while charging. DC charging for electric motorcycles can complement a network where the vehicle, battery and communication requirements are compatible. No single option should be assumed to fit every motorcycle or battery.
Make installation and daily use straightforward
A clear site plan helps simplify deployment. Operators should define equipment positions, electrical capacity, weather protection, rider access and maintenance space before installation. Connection requirements, battery interfaces and local approvals should be confirmed with qualified project partners. Solar generation and storage should be sized around the actual load and operating schedule, rather than added only for visual appeal.
The rider experience also needs a clear sequence: identify the service point, follow the instructions, complete the supported payment or access process, and continue the journey. Interface language, labels and payment arrangements should match the target market. Straightforward instructions can support smoother operations as a site grows.
Connect equipment with an operating platform
An energy hub requires an operating process as well as physical equipment. Teams need a consistent way to review device status, respond to service issues and organise maintenance. Digital information should support those responsibilities while on-site inspection remains part of the routine. A pilot site can help establish the workflow before the network expands.
Guangzhou YUNKU Intelligent, established in 2015, develops two-wheeler charging stations, battery charging cabinets, battery-swap cabinets and electric motorcycle DC charging equipment. Its self-developed SaaS platform supports project-specific discussions around API integration and private deployment. Equipment functions and platform scope should be confirmed for the selected configuration.
For overseas projects, YUNKU offers customisation discussions covering appearance, branding, interface language, payment options and hardware or software requirements, together with technical support. By defining installation conditions and the daily operating process early, project partners can build an energy hub around a clear deployment plan and a manageable user experience.
