South Korea’s Baemin announced K-GX recognition for its green delivery initiative on 8 October 2026. Its pilot combines electric motorcycles and battery-swapping services, highlighting the importance of coordinated fleet planning. This article explores route-based deployment, verified battery compatibility and practical operating processes, alongside YUNKU’s equipment, platform integration and overseas customisation options.

On 8 October 2026, Woowa Brothers, the operator of South Korean delivery platform Baemin, announced that its green delivery ecosystem initiative had been selected for the government’s K-GX programme. Yonhap reported that a pilot in Gwangmyeong, running since March 2026, combines battery-swapping facilities, electric motorcycle rentals and delivery incentives. The company plans to extend lessons from its pilots progressively. This is an expansion intention, rather than confirmation of a completed nationwide network.

For overseas delivery operators, the development points to a practical opportunity: plan the rider service, vehicles and energy infrastructure together.

Build the energy service around delivery routes

A delivery rider needs an accessible place to replenish energy without disrupting the next job. Operators should map departure points, busy delivery areas and typical return patterns before choosing sites. A well-positioned cabinet may be more useful than additional equipment placed away from normal routes. Rider access, opening hours and a clear support process deserve attention alongside battery capacity.

Battery swapping can suit fleets built around compatible removable packs. Battery charging cabinets may serve depots where packs can remain while charging. Electric motorcycle DC charging is another option where the vehicle, battery and charger are designed to work together. The selection should follow the operating model and verified compatibility, rather than an assumption that every two-wheeler can use the same infrastructure.

Define the equipment and operating boundaries

Before deployment, project teams should confirm battery dimensions, electrical ratings, connectors, communication requirements and the responsibilities of each supplier. They also need to assess the site’s power supply, weather exposure, access and maintenance space. Clear installation documentation and an agreed commissioning process help local partners prepare a site with fewer uncertainties.

Daily operation is equally important. Teams should establish how equipment and batteries are identified, how service issues are reported, and who performs inspections and repairs. A software platform can support records and operational visibility, while physical maintenance remains essential. Pilot results should guide expansion, including the balance between available batteries, rider demand and service capacity.

Make local use simple and fleet management connected

Guangzhou YUNKU Intelligent offers battery-swap cabinets, battery charging cabinets and electric motorcycle charging equipment for project-specific two-wheeler applications. Its self-developed SaaS platform supports discussions around API integration and private deployment, helping partners define how equipment management fits their existing operating processes. Functions must be confirmed for the selected model and configuration.

For overseas customers, YUNKU also provides customisation discussions covering appearance, branding, interface language, payment arrangements and software or hardware requirements, together with technical support. A clearly specified installation plan and straightforward user instructions can support convenient operation by local teams. South Korea’s pilot approach offers a useful planning lesson: develop a workable rider experience, validate the full system, and expand using evidence from daily service.
